Catharine is the founder and CEO of Bits of Health, a Boston nutricuticals company that sells algae in small tablet form that can be swallowed or chewed.  Their four brands of algae are sold as high performance, high protein, immune-building snack food.  Algae has been sold globally for fifty years, including in Asia, where it a multibillion dollar market. Bits of Health is the first company to brand and sell algae to mainstream consumers and athletes in the USA and they have used a unique strategy to do so.  Their growing success and momentum is being compared to that of Red Bull who, ten years ago introduced energy drinks and built it into a $10 billion category.  Bits of Health is similarly first to market in the USA with a product that has a proven track record in Asia and they similarly plan to build a billion dollar market. Bits of  Health is now four years old. It is Catharine’s third internet startup.

Catharine holds an MBA from The Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario, a BA in urban planning from Queen’s University, an Arts Management Certificate from the Banff School of Fine Arts, is a Board Certified Health Counselor from The Institute of Integrative Nutrition and the State University of New York (SUNY), and is a REIKI Master. For 25 years she has been a senior marketing executive, a magazine publisher, an international attaché for the Canadian and British governments, and now loves introducing algae to everyone she meets. She eats at least 100 algae tabs a day and is living proof that algae will “rock your world”.

Nancy is President and CEO of Modern Day Scribe, LLC -- the premier transcription service for researchers since 1994. Modern Day Scribe produces transcripts from digitally-recorded interviews, focus groups, advisory boards, and other meetings.  The company comprises a US-based, virtual workforce of over 50 language specialists in four time zones. It has brought together the talents of nurses, teachers, secretaries, business management personnel, and computer hardware and software specialists to create a combined editing, data entry, and transcription service that is unparalleled in the transcription industry.

Nancy currently serves on the Board of the New England Marketing Research Association as Secretary, and is an active member of the Women’s Business Enterprise and American Marketing Association. Nancy attributes over 60% of new business to her activity with Linked In.

As Chief Marketing Officer, Ameeta led strategic planning as well as corporate, industry and product marketing at VFA, a late stage VC -backed company providing software and services for facilities capital planning. She has more than 20 years of marketing and business development experience, and has been instrumental in the success of many new technology ventures. She founded Aanza AutoID Group, an RFID services firm; Aanza, a provider of product lifecycle management software and services, and Altek Consulting, a management consulting firm. She also served as VP of Product Marketing and VP of Marketing at ChannelWave Software, a VC-backed provider of partner relationship management software. She has held senior marketing positions at Computer Identics, The BOC Group, Genus and Varian Associates.

Ameeta is a member of the Edison Ventures Director Network and served on the board of directors of Edison portfolio company, PlumChoice, Inc. She chaired the MIT Enterprise Forum of Cambridge and is currently the chair of its Launch Smart committee. Ameeta is a mentor at the UMass Mentors and Ventures program and was a charter member of TiE-Boston. She earned her MBA from the University of Chicago, MS from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and BS (Honors) from St. Stephen’s College, University of Delhi, India.

Her experience includes building strategic marketing programs, leading and mentoring teams, and building consensus. She is a widely quoted international speaker on web analytics, social media, nonprofit development and search marketing.

Her awards include the Social Media Society Media Star Award and the FutureM Future of Marketing Awards for 2011.
