About Us

The Boston Entrepreneurs' Network (ENET) connects early stage entrepreneurs with information and resources necessary to transform an idea into a successful product or service business.

Founded in 1991, The Boston Entrepreneurs' Network (ENET) is where tech and life sciences founders and founders-to-be learn, network, and grow. ENET’s meetings have been instrumental in the formation of many startups and provide an important venue for meeting participants and members to network, talk about their ideas, showcase their startups, and conduct business.

ENET organizes nearly 20 evening meetings per program year hosted at sites in Waltham, Cambridge, and Boston. Every meeting is designed to be a learning experience in a nurturing environment during which 3 or 4 experts speak on a subject of interest to founders. Meeting subjects include:

  • Business formation and launch
  • Finding Cofounders, founder agreements and stock vesting
  • Bootstrapping and SBIR grants
  • Term sheets, valuations, and raising angel capital
  • Recruiting a management team
  • Marketing and making sales
  • Protecting IP and trademarks

Our speakers are angel investors, venture capitalists, CEOs, serial entrepreneurs, and industry experts and professionals and the meeting subjects are presented in order to be useful to the wide array of Boston, Cambridge, Massachusetts and New England businesses that comprise the innovation economy, including:

  • High tech, Mobile and e-commerce and Social impact
  • Health care / Life sciences, Energy and Clean tech
  • Other Emerging fields of Innovation.

Refreshments are provided along with ample time for networking both before and after the speakers and formal Q and A sections of the meeting.

In addition to our focus on the innovation economy, The Boston Entrepreneurs' Network (ENET) is a special interest group of the Boston Section of the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers), the world's largest professional organization with 375,000 members worldwide. In 2015, ENET’s Board of Directors received the IEEE-USA Regional Professional Leadership Award for Boston ENET’s “support of the entrepreneurial community and contributions to the professional growth of individuals and organizations” and ENET Chairman Robert Adelson received the IEEE-USA Professional Achievement Award ENET welcomes attendance and participation by IEEE members and engineers.

ENET ends each program year with a July sunset networking cruise of Boston Harbor. We typically invite other complimentary groups to join our "Entrepreneur Ship" to further enhance the night's networking.
